How to Keep Going When you Want to Give Up

Whether it’s running your business or a marathon, working towards your dream or trying to make a marriage work, there are some situations we can find ourselves in where we want to keep going but really struggle to maintain motivation. Entrepreneurship is one of those things. We have to give every last drop of will-power and energy to avoid just giving up and packing it all in. Many of our friends and family don’t know why we “put ourselves through it”, so it’s hard to talk to them about our business.

In these situations we often find ourselves turning to mental tricks and ruminations to try and convince ourselves to keep going. Often times pining over the pictures we see posted on social media depicting a person on the beach with a drink in their hand looking as if they do not have a care in the world. So what are some of the best techniques you can use when you want to give up to ensure you persist?

Draw Inspiration from EVERYWHERE

Most of us have real stories and memories that we can use to dig deep and find inspiration. If you have ever met with a BVE Success Advisor you know our philosophy is simple….get a positive team that understands you. Not just any team, but a team that understands entrepreneurship. Perhaps you had a parent or a friend who never gave up no matter what. Maybe you remember them challenging you to accomplish something and really believing in yourself. These people can help you to dig deep when you’re really struggling for energy, commitment or will-power.
If that doesn’t work, try an inspiring music track. ‘You’ve got the power’ https://youtu.be/A52–FKUQgU by the 80s soft rock artist Stan Bush should do the trick!

Remind Yourself Why You’re Doing It

Another trick is to remind yourself why you’re doing what you’re doing. If you are trying to turn your passion into business, so you can leave your 9 to 5 job and live in your God given talent. Or if you have been running your business now for a few years and you realize you want to see more success than you’re experiencing today. At Bold Vision Enterprise we have seen and heard more reasons than we care to remember. However. the most important thing isn’t the memory it’s knowing when to use it to motivate yourself.

If you’re working towards a dream try visualizing yourself where you want to be because you managed to accomplish the gargantuan goal. If you’re trying to make money, that might mean imagining yourself on a yacht in the sun somewhere. Maybe its spending more quality time with the family since you have more financial flexibility.

At Bold Vision Enterprise we aren’t championing the Vision Board movement, we like to develop actionable growth strategies with our clients. However, we recognize creating a Vision Board does work well for some people. So if you are the type of person who prefers to visually see your future success then consider building a Vision Board.

Remind Yourself of the Consequences

Sometimes the stick can be more motivating than the carrot. If imagining yourself being highly successful because you did well isn’t doing the trick, then maybe try doing the opposite instead. Imagining what would happen if you give up. Imagine having to tell everyone you failed. Imagine knowing you failed… Especially after all the effort you’ve already put in! We know that sounds harsh but some people need to think about this.

Break it Down

If you’re tackling an impossible task or its a seemingly simple task you can’t seem to conquer, break it down into smaller milestones. Then get an accountability partner. It helps to know someone out there is going to ask for a status update. Isolation isn’t something we suggest at any level.
Building a business is not easy. Remember to celebrate the micro wins along the way…it helps.

Take a Break

There are moments when taking a break is the best thing to do. Have a breather. Most tasks aren’t binary meaning it’s not ‘do or die’. Be strategic with your energy management and realize that a short time out can often yield better results in the long term.

Also, pay attention to your energy. When you work best on technical task? When do you work best on creative items? When is the best time for you to tackle or engage “problem clients”? Knowing these answer will help you determine the ideal time to take a break.

4 Secrets for Achieving Internal Success

4 Secrets for Achieving Internal Success

All small business owners want to be successful. Since childhood, being successful has been ingrained in many of our minds as the great aim of life. This isn’t a bad thing. However, we need to better understand that success varies greatly. Not only in how it is measured, quantified or qualified but also whether it is external or internal. What is an internal success? And can you achieve it? For starters, personal and emotional success, are an integral part of business success.  Success is about achieving goals. To do so you should always assess the how and why of your goals first. Plainly put, begin with the end in mind and then begin to understand the person in the mirror who controls the journey to that end. To begin your self-assessment, here are the four secrets that can help you achieve internal success before and during your business.

#1 Be Accountable to Yourself by Setting Goals

It is vital that you set your goals for your personal and professional life, in order to provide a target for you to aim for. List your goals, then write down the steps you are going to take to achieve them.  This does not need to be an essay. Simple bullet points with target dates will suffice. Add who or what can help you as a column in your list. Lastly, find an accountability partner, friend, family member, group or coach.  If you are looking for a business coach talk to a BVE Success Advisor who can support you.

#2 Remember Your Personal and Professional Lives Are Interdependent

You may think that your career and personal goals are separate. However, they are interdependent. Your career relies on your well-being. Which impacts your family, relationships, health, and happiness. Your happiness influences the quality of your relationships and health all of which will affect your career or business.  You are your company culture. If you’re not happy at work or doing a job that you love, it impacts your emotional and physical wellbeing and your personal life.

Focus on one area at a time and the success will bleed into the other areas.

#3 Find Your Passion and Purpose

If your personal and professional lives are interdependent, then to be successful in them you will need to discover your passion and purpose. These internal attributes will require some level of introspection.  This may be a great time to meditate. Through introspection, you will feel re-energized to drive determination, enhance your creativity and spark inspiration in your activities. For all the 9 to 5ers thinking about leaving their jobs this will be a great exercise for you.  For those with existing businesses, this can help you get realigned personally and professionally.

#4 Don’t Focus on Money.  Instead, Focus on Passion and Purpose

I know this may seem like a strange thing to read coming from a business strategist, but it’s true.  Chasing money instead of passion and purpose can lead many to find that success is tainted by misery. While people consider amassing wealth to be a sign of success, that should not be your end goal or sole success indicator.

Instead, focus on your mindset, lifestyle, and wellbeing.  What will your life look and feel like when you have truly achieved internal success?  How will your family, friends, employees, co-workers, strategic partners and others feel?  Create a vision board with words, quotes, and pictures showing your life as you want it to be?  Our suggestion is to make it an actionable vision board by putting dates of intended achievement on each picture.

When thinking about your professional success consider how you will know you’ve succeeded. What will your position be? How will you be making an impact in your company and in the wider community?  What will your working day look like? How will your company change people’s lives? Think about work/life balance and the effect on your family and relationships with friends. How will your new role or business affect your time, health and happiness?

In Conclusion

While success can mean different things to different people, one thing all definitions have in common is that success is measured by achieving goals that make you feel positive emotions and that if measured internally, not by external assets.  We believe you will find the greatest success comes when you use your passions to create your goals that will solve real problems and improve the lives that you touch.

Optimizing Webinars for Products & Services Launch

Optimizing Webinars for Products & Services Launch

If you’re wondering when to use webinars for your products or services launch, ask a Bold Vision Entreprise (BVE) Success Advisor. Our answer will be simple: “Every Time.” We understand that the products and services decision making cycle can be hard, but building on top of what you already have means that you are held to a high growth factor. Growth means bringing in new clients, and webinars mean growth.

Benefits of webinars for a products and services launch:
Brand recognition is deepened
Get real time feedback from potential customers (depending on webinar setup)
Cold to a warm market conversion
Potential customers are pulled into the top of your company’s sales funnel
Increase your communication with potential customers

The Why
If you’ve done your market research correctly, your new product or service will be designed to specifically address a common problem in your niche or industry. Next, it will offer an effective solution that will be made clear during the webinar. Knowing your target audience’s “pain points”, is one way to ensure you have a steady stream of new and repeat customers. This requires a bold communications strategy, one that BVE is skilled to assist you in crafting. The ultimate goal is that your new product reaffirms your expertise and your company is worth doing business with.

The Rules
Prior to publishing, the first rule for optimizing your webinar is to test, test and test again. Low class lighting can make a potential customer assume you have an inferior product or service. Poor audio quality may frustrate interested customers, making quality content become null in void. Excellent lighting and audio seem simple, but are extremely important and require skill to perfect. If you feel apprehensive about fine tuning these rules on your own, get in contact with your BVE advisor to search for a videography company that is the right fit. BVE partners with VIE Videography and Photography, to outsource additional services you may need to make sure the videography quality matches your exquisite content.

The Content
Since your product will usually help solve or address a pain point, that pain point will be a great topic for a webinar. It will lead to the introduction of the product, and give you an opportunity to introduce it to the market. Often, this is done at a discounted introductory price not available anywhere else, for a limited time only. The lower introductory price reduces the risk of doing business with you. Don’t forget, the topic creates interest in the product. The clock is ticking because it is a limited time offer for webinar attendees only. This will usually make even the “fence sitters” take action because they don’t want to miss out.

Studies have shown that consumers are more motivated by a fear of loss or missing an opportunity, than by the excitement of gaining a product related benefit. Therefore, the limited time offer will motivate people to make more impulse purchases, compared to an open-ended offer. The fact that you are giving them a low introductory price for attending the webinar, makes potential customers feel special. It also motivates them to attend more of your webinars because they know you treat your customers well.

Regarding fear of loss, you could create a title that plays on this. For example, you create a webinar titled, “The 3 Most Costly Mistakes You’re Making in Your Online Business & How to Overcome Them.” Your webinar should lightly address the three mistakes, and end with your product or service as the complete solution. The key is not giving all of the information away, but prompting a sale. The webinar is the appetizer of sorts to your main sale, the product or service.

The Launch
You’ve finally launched your product. Now, you need to return to your original webinar recording and update from the introductory price to now reflect the actual price. You now can leverage the webinar as a video sales letter that highlights all the benefits of your product. Nervous about video or sound editing? For highest quality ask your BVE advisor to referral you to a professional editor. You always want to exemplify professionalism and quality. There is a lot to do whenever you launch a product or service, but using a webinar and getting people to register for your big event can help get your sales off to a great start.

Bold Vision Enterprise hopes this blog post gave you some actionable tips on new products and services launch and your webinar. If you want a custom strategy for your business’s product and/or service or a videographer referral contact us and we will be happy to help.

Discover – Create – Implement

There’s nothing more empowering in entrepreneurship than coming to the realization that you can have, do and be anything you want! In today’s world of social media this thought is echoed louder than ever.

Often, the problem for many is disbelief. Thinking that it’s already been done, results in thinking our product or service isn’t good enough. Or we doubt that we have a Unique Value Proposition strong enough to separate ourselves from the marketplace.

What do you think?

How do you feel about the opportunity to establish and/or grow your business?

At Bold Vision Enterprise we believe you can do it. It will not be easy and you have to be mentally prepared for the ups and downs, but it is completely doable. Even if it has been done before.

The classic adage “seek and ye shall find” still stands true. If you look for proof that achieving big goals, big dreams and living a life of excitement and success is possible, you will find it. If you look for proof that life is difficult, big goals are impossible to achieve and success is reserved only for a select few, well you are certain to find that as well. Attitude is EVERYTHING! We all have a story about the difficulties life has dealt us. You already know what you’ve been through, and there no reason to tell every person you meet. Let’s make today the day you come to the realization that you can have, do and be anything you want!

An exciting future awaits you. But you have to name it and claim it. Your journey begins now. If you want to speak to a BVE Success Advisor feel free to schedule an appointment today.  Bold Vision Enterprise stands ready to help!

Learn What Failure and Starting Your Business Have in Common

What Failure and Starting Your Business Have in Common

Starting your business and failure have more in common than you may think. The fear of failure often results in a person doing everything they can to avoid failure, even if it means stagnation and unfulfilled dreams. Many do this because they think if they try and do not succeed, they will be perceived as an overall failure to their employees, friends and/or family. Are you this person? Is there a business you want to start, but feel paralyzed by fear?

As social media plays back highlight reels depicting success, it is easy to assume that success is laid at the feet of entrepreneur’s who choose to pursue their dreams. When you look closely, however, you discover a different picture. Entrepreneurship is messy. You don’t see the dozens of ideas they tried that didn’t work prior to being successful. The most prominent unseen factor is the fear of failure that often still rests within them. Yes, they have a fear of failure too, but they didn’t keep it from letting them start their business.

“Fail often, but intelligently. Fail fast, but forward. Then step over the failure, and grow from the lesson.”
Brent Simpson of Bold Vision Enterprise

Failure is a great tool to figure out what not to do the next time around and is necessary for learning and growing. If you try something and it doesn’t work, it is no reason to give up on your entrepreneurial dreams. It should be used as a road map to identify what went wrong, reevaluate your idea, and make adjustments to try and make it work. Find a mentor or an advisor who can help you have a smarter, more strategic launch. Preferably one who has been there and conquered that place or space you wish to operate in. In many cases, having a team helps too.

Avoid being the entrepreneur who talks about their many failures before reaching success. At Bold Vision Enterprise our tagline reads, “Let our knowledge and experience be your company’s head start” because we understand the benefits of leveraging good advisors. So, it may be worth your while to find an advisor who can evaluate what you are doing and help you to get back or stay on track toward success. This may require an upfront investment, but good advisors are certainly worth it if they can produce results for you. Choose wisely, but definitely choose someone bold. If you’re interested feel free to let Bold Vision Enterprise help reduce the fear and confusion of getting started.
